Ingredients:
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract

Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tray with cupcake liners.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the milk and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Add a few drops of green food coloring until the desired tree color is achieved.
- Spoon the cupcake batter evenly into the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once cooled, prepare the frosting by mixing powdered sugar and milk together until smooth and creamy.
- Frost the cupcakes with the green frosting, creating a tree-like swirl. Decorate with mini chocolate chips as ornaments and finish with a decorative star on top.
