Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • Green food coloring
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp of milk for frosting
  • Mini chocolate chips for decoration

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tray with cupcake liners.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the milk and vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Add a few drops of green food coloring until the desired tree color is achieved.
  • Spoon the cupcake batter evenly into the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once cooled, prepare the frosting by mixing powdered sugar and milk together until smooth and creamy.
  • Frost the cupcakes with the green frosting, creating a tree-like swirl. Decorate with mini chocolate chips as ornaments and finish with a decorative star on top.
