Difficulty:

Novice

Ingredients:

  • 100g of spaghetti
  • 50g of pancetta
  • 1 large egg
  • 30g of grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Pot
  • Pan
  • Stirring Spoon
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board

Instructions:

  • Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water.
  • In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and pancetta, cooking until the pancetta is crispy and the garlic is fragrant.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the egg, grated parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  • Add the cooked spaghetti to the pan with pancetta and garlic, tossing to combine.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and quickly pour the egg mixture over the spaghetti, stirring rapidly to create a creamy sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to loosen it.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley, additional parmesan, and more black pepper if desired.
